Composers Now Salon

with composer Seong Ae Kim and artist Andre Veloux

The Coach Barn at Pocantico

Tickets are $16.50 and all participants must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.

The Composers Now Creative Residency program at Pocantico pairs distinguished composers with visual artists to develop multidisciplinary performance pieces that engage both the eyes and ears. Composer Seong Ae Kim and visual artist Andre Veloux will discuss their individual styles and their process of creative collaboration. They will share excerpts from a new work-in-process created during their residency at The Pocantico Center. Their collaboration focuses on the sharp increase in hate crimes targeting Asian people, especially women, in the United States since the start of the pandemic and the response from the Stop Asian Hate movement. Their finished work will be presented in New York as part of the opening event of the Composers Now Festival in January 2022.

The event is presented in partnership with Composers Now.
